A boy and his bow

 My young outdoors-man wanted a bow and arrow.  Not a kiddie/toy bow, but a real youth bow that uses real arrows.  We went to Academy and he picked out exactly what he would like.  A youth bow for $30 plus the youth arrows for $2.50 each.   He had about $10 saved and calculated how many weeks he would need to save his very small allowance so that he could purchase these items.

 

We shop at Goodwill, a lot.  Hubby and I love to shop at Goodwill, our two boys- not so much. Well, less than a week after Luke had started saving for his real bow, I ran into Goodwill and there hanging on a cart was a real youth bow, very similar to the one my camo-loving son had picked out at Academy.  Goodwill's price?  .99 cents!

I purchased the bow.  When Luke saw the bow he couldn't believe it! He was very excited and kept smiling.  It had no arrows though.  So we headed to Academy to pick up arrows.  He was able to purchase 5 arrows with his $10. 

 

 This boy is having a blast.  He's very serious about his bow and arrow. 

 

He even let his big brother try it out.  

He and I talked about the fact that it wasn't just a coincidence that I found a bow at Goodwill.   I believe we have a loving heavenly Father, who cares about our every need and sometimes gives us what we want.

With all my heart
    I praise the Lord,
    and with all that I am

    and showed all Israel
    what he could do.

The Lord is merciful!

 The Lord won’t always be angry
    and point out our sins;
    he doesn’t punish us
    as our sins deserve.

 How great is God’s love for all
    who worship him?
    Greater than the distance
    between heaven and earth!

 How far has the Lord taken
    our sins from us?
    Farther than the distance
    from east to west!

 Just as parents are kind
    to their children,
the Lord is kind
    to all who worship him, 
     because he knows
    we are made of dust.

We humans are like grass
    or wild flowers
    that quickly bloom.
 But a scorching wind blows,
    and they quickly wither
    to be forever forgotten.

 The Lord is always kind
    to those who worship him,
and he keeps his promises
to their descendants
 God has set up his kingdom

in heaven,
    and he rules
    the whole creation.

All of you mighty angels,who obey God’s commands,
    come and praise your Lord!
 All of you thousands
who serve and obey God,
    come and praise your Lord!

 All of God’s creation
and all that he rules,
    come and praise your Lord!
